Each participant in the supply chain for Southern Cross Beef shares data through secure keys, to create a completely accountable view of our product’s path from the farm to your store, giving you more confidence than ever in the quality and background of our beef.
2. Technology
By using blockchain, we are able to secure and verify our product through a traceable system. The technology itself acts as an auditable ledger, where each point of the supply chain is verifiable. Our approach to smarter food is a step towards a new digital distribution of the food supply chain as it exists today. The integration of blockchain technology in the food industry requires the integration of intelligent control systems as well, and our technology maintains and secures data on procurement, storage, tracking, reporting, and quality assurance.
We have partnered with BeefLedger, a specialist blockchain technology developer, focused on enhanced beef supply chain traceability, authentication and streamlined payments. It is a national leader and is involved in national flagship projects utilising blockchain technologies with the Commonwealth Government-funded Food Agility Cooperative Research Centre and Future Food Systems Cooperative Research Centre.
